The Surf Rescue Certificate will provide candidates with skills and knowledge of aquatic safety, rescue and survival skill techniques.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate basic first aid skills, identify potential risks and perform various surf rescues in an open water environment.
Candidates will be required to complete fitness components, role-plays, oral questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the Surf Rescue Certificate. The certificate is recognised by SLSA to participate in lifesaving operations and act in the role of Water Safety Personnel.
One (1) year from date of course. Refresher sessions will be provided each year by the club.
